Mele from the Harp is the first CD of its kind: traditional Hawaiian songs played on celtic harp, accompanied by slack-key guitar and cello.
The relaxing nature of Hawaiian music lends itself perfectly to the harp, and will be a happy surprise to fans of Hawaiian music and harp music alike.
This is an instrumental album, and is well suited for relaxing activities such as yoga, meditation and massage, as well as for work and play.
Cindy Combs (tracks 1, 6, and 11) is a world-class slack-key guitar master from the island of Kaua’i. She appears regularly at the Hanapepe Café and the Hawai’i Slack Key Guitar Festival.
Her latest recording, Sunny
Rain, was co-produced by George Winston on the Dancing Cat label and released
in August 2007. For more information, visit

Joe Lohmeier (tracks 2, 4, 8 and 10) began to play the cello with the Hawai’i Youth Symphony from 1979 to 1981, then with the UH Chamber Orchestra and UH Symphony from 1982-1986.
Currently, he is a studio musician and performer in such various genres as jazz, Hawaiian, folk and rock.
